Dynamics 365 CRM for Accounting Firms

Tax season and year-end test your systems harder than any other time of year. We make sure your Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform are ready for it.

Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform, ready for tax season and year-end.

Overview

Busy Season Has A Way Of Finding The Weak Spots.

For most of the year, a workflow that hangs for a minute is easy to ignore. A week before a filing deadline, it holds everything up. New clients are waiting to be set up, engagements need opening, and documents keep coming in. When the system falls behind, people work around it. Staff chase paperwork over email. Partners sign off from a spreadsheet. Before long, one client has three different addresses on file.

Our work with accounting firms usually starts with what is already there. Sometimes that means repairing something fragile. Sometimes it means getting two tools to share data, or picking up a project that stalled halfway. Either way, the goal is a Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform setup that still works on the busiest day of the year.

What you get

Where Accounting Firms Get Stuck

Ask an accounting firm on Dynamics 365 CRM what slows them down and the answers are usually some mix of these four. People put up with them in a quiet week. Near a deadline they cost hours.

01

Onboarding Stalls At Peak.

A new client signs on Monday. Work can’t begin until there is a client record, an open engagement and a partner’s approval. The approval request is the part that tends to sit in someone’s inbox until Thursday.

What We Do:

We put onboarding inside Dynamics 365. Power Automate sends the approval to the partner, and chases it if nothing happens.

02

Client Data In Too Many Places.

A client moves offices. The CRM gets the new address. The practice management software, the billing tool and the SharePoint folder do not, and next month’s invoice goes to the old one.

What We Do:

With Dynamics 365 linked to each of them, staff update the address once. The billing tool and the rest pick it up on their own.

03

Reports Nobody Fully Trusts.

Two reports for the same month, two different totals. One came out of the CRM. The other is a spreadsheet somebody stitched together late on Friday. A manager loses the afternoon finding out which is right.

What We Do:

We build the reports in Power BI, fed directly by Dynamics 365 and your other systems. There is one set of figures, and it updates itself.

04

Inherited Systems Nobody Knows.

After a merger, an integration stops working overnight. There is custom code behind it. Nobody left notes, and the developer who wrote it moved on two years ago.

What We Do:

We start by reading the system. Urgent fixes go in first, and everything else gets written down as we go. That way your firm is not stuck relying on one person, or on a former provider.

What We Build

What We Build For Accounting Firms

A firm might need one of these, or several. They tend to fit together.

Dynamics 365 CRM

Get Started

Every new client follows the same route in Dynamics 365 CRM, from the first call to an approved engagement. If a partner asks where the Henderson file is up to, the answer is on the record.

Power Pages

Secure Client Portal

We build portals on Power Pages. Your client signs in and drops in the bank statement you asked for. On the same page, they can see what is still missing.

Power Automate

Chasers and Sign-Offs

Power Automate emails the client when a document is late, and the partner when a sign-off is waiting. Who approved what, and when, is saved.

Power BI

Reports You Can Rely On

Somebody in the office often loses Friday afternoon to Excel, copying numbers from one system to another. We hand that job to Power BI, which reads the source systems itself. The numbers in one report now match the next one.

Copilot Studio

Internal Help For Staff

Busy season brings new hires, and new hires ask the same question over and over: where is the review checklist? We set up a Copilot Studio agent that answers from your firm’s approved procedures. Seniors get their time back.

Azure and Power Automate

Integrations

Your practice management, tax, document and billing tools, plus Microsoft 365, connected to your Dynamics 365 CRM. Type a client’s details once.

Busy Season

Ready Before Busy Season

A broken workflow is bad news in any week. In the first week of tax season it is much worse. Year-end, audits and filing deadlines bring the same kind of rush, and the systems feel it first.

Before each peak, we test the workflows, integrations and reports your team uses most. Anything that looks weak gets repaired then, not in the middle of the rush. After a release, we keep watching until things are quiet again. During the peak itself, support runs at any hour. If an approval flow breaks at 9 p.m., someone looks at it that night.

Common Questions

Not seeing your question? Ask us.

Yes. That goes for Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Power Pages sites, Power BI reports, and Copilot Studio agents as well. The notes are often thin, so we review what was built and write it down as part of getting started. For older and on-premises Dynamics CRM, see Legacy System Support.

Not because of the switch. Your system stays where it is and keeps running. Only who you call changes.

Not unless you ask. We review your custom work, write it down, and point out anything risky or worth changing. You decide what happens next.

Yes. Support runs around the clock. How fast we respond depends on how serious the problem is, so a system that is down gets faster attention than a small display issue.
Fixes, questions, and small changes are support. Bigger work that needs real design and build time is planned separately. We tell you which one a request is before we start.
